Memorial Day Weekend

Jonathan came to stay with us for Memorial Day weekend, and, as always, we had a great time.

After dinner one night, Jonathan made Zabaglione Parfaits with strawberries, which we enjoyed with drinks. They were perfect. (Aunt Terry's recipe, which, if she gives me permission, I can share in a future post.)

Oh yeah baby. They were pretty fantastic.

Of course we also went out for ice cream one night:

Amaretto Becher (an ice cream sundae with almond ice cream,
amaretti cookies on top, and a shot of amaretto over it. Jonah wanted to attack it.)

On Memorial Day, we went to a big BBQ at Nick and Heather's house. It was their daughter Stella's birthday, so I made this little puppy for her.

Heather made an adorable, whimsical cake. Unfortunately, this has now given my boys all sorts of ideas about their own cakes for this year...

I made a Strawberry Mascarpone Tart with Port Glaze:

It was crazy simple to make, and rather delicious.
